Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 1/8/15

1/8 is the day of Wood Monkey in the month of Fire Rat. This is a harmonious combination that encourages behind the scenes, and occult research.
Monkey is the traveling star for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this is an active day, good for traveling, rearranging your home or office, and for making positive steps forward in your career.
1/8, 1/9. and 1/10 are not good days for people born in a year of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, for attending important meetings or events. Take advantage of whatever good opportunity comes your way, but beware of people trying to use you unfairly. Wear something black to deflect shar (bad luck).
If you were born in a year of Snake, Rooster, or Ox this is a good day for looking into the future, and setting plans.
Monkey gets along well with Monkey, Rat, Dragon, Rooster, and Dog; neutrally with Ox, Rabbit, Horse, and Sheep; and problematically with Snake, Pig, and Snake.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 24, line 1.

Hexagram 24 is Fu, Return. Coming and going without error. Friends come without blame. The way goes to and fro. It is time to do something. This hexagram is good in winter.

Line 1 advises quickly correcting an error and exercising self-discipline. The zodiac signs of line 1, Rat and Sheep are in discord together. They are in partial harmony with the signs of changing lines 3 and 4, in harmony with the sign of the day, and in partial harmony with the sign for the month. The Wood of Wood Monkey day puts a dragon in line 1. Make whatever corrections are necessary, and go forward confidently. The Dragon is auspicious.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Wood, and Earth. Wood is deep within earth, getting ready to sprout. Patience has its rewards.
