Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 9/16/14

9/16 is the day of Metal Tiger in the month of Water Rooster. This combination holds a knife blade. It is active, and can bring out intolerance and aggression; it implies a risk. It favors creative, independent people who can stand up to challenges.
Tiger is in harmony with Tiger, Horse, Dog, Pig, Rabbit, and Rat, and in various degrees of disharmony with Snake, Monkey, Dragon, Sheep, Rooster, and Ox.
Tiger is the Traveling Star for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. This is a good day for people born in the year or day of these signs to make strategic moves in business, or to travel.
Tiger is the Robbing Star for Ox and Rooster. It can work favorably or unfavorably for people born in the year or day of these signs. It either sharpens your wit or sets you up to be robbed or taken unfair advantage of.
The hexagram for this day, according to the King Wen method, is number 19, line 2.

Hexagram 19 is Approach. It has a double meaning. On the one hand it augurs the highest success, and favors perseverance, and on the other hand, however, while this hexagram is good in fall season, it warns of possible misfortune in the eighth month. We are currently in the eighth lunar month of the Chinese calendar.

Line 2 tells us that working the laws of change correctly will enable us to overcome adversity. The zodiac sign of line 2, Rabbit is in partial harmony with the signs of changing line 6, and in harmony with the sign of the day, Tiger. But, Rabbit clashes with the sign of the month, Rooster. It advises being alert and standing up courageously where there is a challenge.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Metal, and Earth. There is profit to be gained.
