Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 9/23/14

9/23 is fall equinox. It is also the last day of the lunar month. Endings and changes are in the air. The day is Fire Rooster in the month of Water Rooster. This is a very active, discordant combination. It favors rising to challenges, being flexible, and taking a chance. Act where there is money to be made, and beware of people with hidden agendas.
Rooster is in harmony with Ox, Snake, Dragon, Sheep, Monkey, Pig, and Rat, and is in various degrees of discord with Rabbit, Rooster, Dog, Tiger, and Horse.
For people born in the year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, the day has possibilities of romance.
If you were born in the year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, the day favors taking the lead and making a positive step forward in your career.
The hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 8, line 3.

Hexagram 8 is Holding Together, or Unity. It spells good fortune for those whose standards are high and who persevere. Those who are uncertain may eventually join. Those who come too late will lose.

Line 3 advises to be careful that you are not associating with the wrong people. The zodiac signs of line 3, Rabbit and Pig, are in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1 and 6, and are in partial harmony/discord with the sign of the day and month, Rooster. The situation is more or less favorable. But, the Fire of Fire Rooster puts a snake in line 3, to say beware of someone with a hidden agenda.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Earth, and Water. Exercise caution.
