Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/15/14

12/15 is the day of Metal Monkey in the month of Wood Pig. This is an entirely discordant combination that can precipitate sudden, unexpected changes. It, nonetheless, favors those who use their creative talents to make money. Metal Monkey is both a Star of Prospects and Academic Nobleman Star. Star of Prospects likes to make money. Academic Nobleman is astute, has the knack of taking advantage of unfavorable circumstances, and can turn bad to good.
Monkey is the Traveling Star for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for traveling, moving or fixing up your house or office, and for taking a positive step forward at work.
If you were born in a year of Snake, Rooster, or Ox this is a good day for looking forward and making plans, but a bad day for getting into a quarrel.
Of you were born in a year of Rabbit, Sheep, or Pig, 12/15, 12/16, and 12/17 are not favorable days for important meetings or events. Beware of people trying to take unfair advantage of you, but take advantage of every good opportunity that comes your way. Wear something black to neutralize shar (bad luck).
Monkey gets along well with Monkey, Rat, Dragon, Rooster, and Dog; neutrally with Ox, Rabbit, Horse, and Sheep, and poorly with Pig, Tiger, and Snake.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 15, line 5.

Hexagram 15 is Qian, or Modesty. It spells success. Carry things things through. This hexagram is good in winter.

Line 5 advises keeping quiet, not doing anything that is inappropriate, and being clear about your motives if you are to make any decisions. The zodiac signs of line 5, Pig and Monkey, are in discord with one another, and in discord with the signs of changing lines 4 and 6, as well as with the signs of the day and month. The Metal of Metal Monkey day puts a tortoise in line 5. This advises to beware of obstacles, and not do anything unusual, but stay your course, and be cautious.

The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Earth, and Earth. The foundations are strong. Rely on the good you have accumulated.
