Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/28/14

12/28 is the day of Water Rooster in the month of Fire Rat. This is a discordant combination. It favors those who are friendly and act independently. It brings out the Star of Prosperity. While it is generally good, it is especially good for people born in the year, month, day, or hour of Rat.
Rooster is the Star of Romance for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this is a good day for you romantic relationship.
Rooster is the Commanding Star for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these, this is a good day to take initiative and move forward in your line of interest.
Rooster gets along well with Ox, Snake, Monkey, Dragon, and sometimes Dog; neutrally with Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; and problematically with Rooster, Rabbit, and sometimes Dog.
The I Ching hexagram of this day, using the King Wen method, is number 1, line 6.

Hexagram 1 is Qian, Heaven, or The Creative. Heaven embraces all. It brings sublime success. Success comes through persistence.

Line 6 warns against becoming arrogant and going to extremes. The Zodiac sign of line 6, Dog, is in harmony with the signs of changing line 1, in conflict with the sign of the day, and neutral to the sign of the month. The Water of Water Rooster day puts a tiger in line 6. While there is something to be gained, forcing the matter can cause injury. The tiger is fierce.

The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Metal, and Metal.  Metal is strong. It is cutting edge, beauty, elegance, decorum, and maintenance of boundaries. Success.
