Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/16/14

12/16 is the day of Metal Rooster in the month of Wood Pig. This is a partly discordant combination. It favors those who are independent and who use their talents to make money. Metal Rooster is a Star of Prospects. It loves to make money.
Metal Rooster is also a Peach Blossom Star and a Red Light Star. Peach Blossom enjoys socializing, and is seductive. Red Light Star, however, can cause trouble in romantic relationships.
Rooster is the Star of Romance for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for romantic adventures.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a day to take command and move forward in your career.
Rooster gets along well with Ox, Snake, Dragon, Monkey, and sometimes Dog; neutrally with Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep; and poorly with Rooster, Rabbit, and sometimes Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 46, line 4.

Hexagram 46 is Sheng, or Rising. It brings success. It is good to see influential people. Traveling toward the South, getting to work, brings good fortune.

Line 4 advises developing with sincerity, and in a spirit of reverence to tradition, keeping in mind the common good. The zodiac sign of line 4, Ox, is in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1 and 3, and with the signs of the day and month. The Metal of Metal Rooster day puts a raven in line 4. While everything moves along, watch out you don't lose patience and fall into an argument.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Earth. Extreme pressure.
