Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/29/14

12/29 is the day of Wood Dog in the month of Fire Rat. This is a harmonious combination. It favors those who are resourceful and creative.
Wood Dog promotes planning, and building up money reserves. It is also a Red Light Star, meaning, it makes trouble in romantic affairs.
Dog is the Star of Arts for Tiger, Horse, and Dog. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for creative, artistic work.
If you were born in a year or day of Pig, Rat, or Ox, this is a good day for enjoying solitude.
Dog gets along well with Dog, Tiger, Horse, Rabbit, Monkey, and sometimes Rooster; neutrally with Pig, Rat, and Snake; and problematically with Ox, Dragon, Sheep, and sometimes Rooster.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 51, line 6.

Hexagram 51 is Zhen, Thunder. It symbolizes what is heard, but not seen. Success. Thunder startles. It terrifies all for a hundred miles around. People laugh. He does not drop the sacrificial spoon and chalice.

Line 6 advises not to overdo anything. If conditions are bad, take no action today. Wait. The zodiac sign of line 6, Dog, is in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1 and 5, and with the signs of the day and month. The Wood of Wood Dog day puts a tortoise in line 6. It favors being on guard for the time being.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. Wood is strong. Help is coming from all directions.
