Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 12/31/14

12/31 is the day of Fire Rat in the month of Fire Rat. The combination is dynamic. It favors those who are independent and hard working. The double Fire Rat both encourages romance, especially for those born in years or days of Pig, Rabbit, or Sheep, and brings up potential trouble in relationships, especially in marriage or with in-laws.
Rat is the Commanding Star for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three, this is a good day to take the initiative to pursue your aim.
Rat gets along well with Rat, Dragon, Monkey, Pig, Ox, and sometimes Sheep; neutrally with Tiger, Snake, Rooster, and Dog; and problematically with Rabbit, Horse, and sometimes Sheep.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 25, line 4.

Hexagram 25 is Wuwang, Innocence. Supreme success. It is good to persevere. But if you are not as you should be, you will have bad luck, and nothing will help.

Line 4 advises doing only what is right. The zodiac sign for line 4, Horse, is in harmony with the signs of changing lines, 2, 3, and 5, and clashes with the sign for the day and month. The Fire of Fire Rat day puts a tiger in line 4. If you go forward in this you better be sure of yourself, that you are right, because the challenge is great, and the tiger is ferocious.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Metal. Strength is limited.
