Chinese astrological I Ching reading for 1/23/16

1/23 is the day of Wood Dragon in the month of Earth Ox. This is a harmonious combination. It brings out the deity of Conventional Wealth, favoring those who are down to earth, practical, thrifty, diligent, thrifty, and good at managing finances.
Dragon is the Star of Art for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day for creative work.
Dragon favors Monkey, Rat, Rooster, and Tiger; is neutral toward Snake, Horse, Sheep, Pig, and Ox; clashes with Dragon and Dog; and is ambivalent toward Rabbit.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 10, line 5.

Hexagram 10 is Lu, Treading. Stepping on the tail of the tiger, it does not bite. Success. Danger. This hexagram is good in winter.

Line 5 encourages one to proceed resolutely, but with awareness of danger. The zodiac signs for line 5, Monkey and Rat, are in harmony with one another, are strong by the season, and, by the hexagram, represent work and money. Monkey and Rat are in partial discord with the signs of changing line, 4, but are in harmony with the signs of the day and month. The Wood of Wood Dragon day puts a tiger in line 5. This encourages us to be very positively proactive.
