Chinese astrological I Ching reading for 1/24/16

1/24 is the day of Wood Snake in the month of Earth Ox. This is a partly discordant combination. It brings out the deity of Unconventional Wealth, favoring those who are apt at finances, especially in areas of speculation.
Snake is the Traveling Star for Pig, Rabbit, and Sheep. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs, this is a good day to make positive changes in your work, rearrange your space, and travel.
Snake favors Snake, Rooster, Ox, Horse, and Sheep; is neutral toward Dog, Rat, Rabbit, and Dragon; and clashes with Monkey, Pig, and Tiger.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 53, line 3.

Hexagram 53 is Jian, the Gradual. The maiden marries, Good fortune. This hexagram is bad in winter.

Line 3 advises to protect yourself against bad luck and losses. The zodiac sign for line 3, Monkey, is weak by the season, and, by the hexagram, represents creative work, or enterprise. Monkey is in partial discord with the signs of changing lines, 5 and 6, clashes with the sign of the day, and is neutral toward the sign of the month. With effort money is generated. The Wood of Wood Snake day puts a worm in line 3. The way if fraught with complications at this point. Care and attention to detail is needed.
