Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/17/15

8/17 is the day of Wood Ox in the month of Wood Monkey. This is a harmonious combination. It resolves difficulties, brings help, and favors industriousness.
Ox is the Star of Art for Snake, Rooster, and Ox. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this is a good day for you for creative work.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 53, line 3.

Hexagram 53 is Jian, Gradual Progress. The maiden is given in marriage. Good luck through perseverance.

Line 3 says not to lose faith. Do not let others take unfair advantage of you. The zodiac signs of line 3 are Monkey and Horse. Monkey is strong by the season and the hexagram. Horse is weak by the season and strong by the hexagram. Monkey loses some strength. In this hexagram Monkey represents business interest. Pursue business and money interests. There is money to be made. Monkey generates money with the signs of changing lines, 2 and 5, and is in harmony with the sign of the month, showing growth in business. The Wood of Wood Ox day puts a worm in line 3, however. It denotes obstacles which may limit the prospects to a degree.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Earth, and Wood. It favors being industrious.

  1. Nice. I'm a Wood Ox, and my partner is a Fire Snake, and we're both creative types. :) Good day for us! :D
