Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 8/20/15

8/20 is the day of Earth Dragon in the month of Wood Monkey. This is a partly discordant combination. It favors those who are entrepreneurial, ambitious and motivated, and it gives the ability to take positive advantage of problematic situations. But, it can also bring up trouble in romantic relationships.
Dragon is the Star of Art for Monkey, Rat, and Dragon. If you were born in a year or day of one of these three signs this is a good day for creative work.
Dragon generally favors Monkey, Rat, Rooster, and Tiger; is neutral toward Snake, Horse, Sheep, Pig, and Ox; clashes with Dragon and Dog; and is either good or bad with Rabbit depending on circumstances.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 32, line 3.

Hexagram 32 is Heng; Constancy. Success through perseverance. Be careful, however, of loss of either money or power. This hexagram is not good in fall.

Line 3 warns against vacillating; it invites bad luck. The zodiac signs of line 3, Rooster and Rabbit, clash with one another. Rooster, by the season, is strong, but by the hexagram is weak. Rabbit, by the season is weak, but by the hexagram is strong. They represent, in this hexagram, a relationship of enmity, or a relationship in which you are being used. Both Rooster and Rabbit are in harmony with the signs of changing line, 2. This allows for mediation or common ground. Rooster is in harmony with the signs of the day and month. Rabbit clashes with the sign of the day and is neutral toward the sign of the month. Rooster is the stronger sign. Don't underestimate your opposition. The situation is tricky. The Earth of Earth Dragon day puts a tiger in line 3. There is danger of harm.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. We are in the season of Metal. Metal kills Wood. Even though the power of Wood is strong it is overwhelmed by Metal. There is a contest in this. Vacillating will cause a loss.
