Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/13/14

10/13 is the day of Fire Snake in the month of Wood Dog. This is a peak day for Snake. Fire Snake is a Knife Blade configuration. It can be obstinate, and warns you to stay out of conflict and protect your health.
The combination of Fire Snake and Wood Dog is harmonious. It encourages you to tend to nourishment and studies, to show care to others, to endure hardship, focus on spiritual enrichment, become peaceful, and to work creatively.
Snake is the Traveling Star for Rabbit, Sheep, and Pig. If you were born in a year or day of one of these, this is a good day for traveling, rearranging your home, and taking a positive step forward at work.
If you were born in the year of Tiger, Horse, or Dog this is a good day for making plans, but bad for getting into arguments.
If you were born in the year of Rat, Dragon, or Monkey, 10/13, 10/14 and 10/15 are best avoided for important meetings or events. If you can't avoid that, to mitigate the shar (bad luck), wear something green, and do not sit with the south to your back.
Snake is in harmony with Snake, Rooster, Ox, Horse, Sheep, Dog, Dragon, and Rabbit, and is in discord with Pig, Monkey, Tiger, and Rat.
The I Ching hexagram for this day is number 24, line 1.

Hexagram 24 is Return. Coming and going. All goes to and fro. This hexagram is good in fall.

Line 1 says return from a short distance. Make timely corrections and exercise self-discipline. The zodiac signs of line 1, Rat and Sheep are in discord with one another, and are in partial harmony with the sign for the day, Snake, and discord with the sign for the month, Dog. The Fire of Fire Snake puts a raven in line 1. Avoid quarreling and gossiping. Moving obstinately in a wrong direction will result in misfortune.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Wood, and Earth. The plant must sprout from the earth before it is seen.
