Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/4/14

10/4 is the day of Earth Monkey in the month of Wood Dog. Earth Monkey is called an Academic Nobleman Star. It favors hard work, getting knowledge, and turning difficult conditions to one's advantage. But, it warns against being conceited and fooling oneself, thus causing one's own downfall.
Earth Monkey and Wood Dog form a partly discordant combination that encourages resourcefulness and independence, and facing challenges.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day to take a positive step forward, especially in your career.
Monkey is in harmony with Monkey, Rat, Dragon, Rooster, Dog, Sheep, and Ox, and in discord with Tiger, Snake, Pig, Horse, and Rabbit.
The I Ching hexagram for this day is number 32, line 3.

Hexagram 32 is Constancy. No blame, If you are correct, persevere. If you are not, beware of possible losses, especially of money. This hexagram is not good in fall.

Line 3 warns of inconstancy that will give cause for regret. Vacillating can result in disaster. Make sure you know where you are going and what you are doing, and be steadfast. The zodiac signs of line 3, Rooster and Horse are in discord with one another, and are in discord with the signs of changing line 3. They are in partial harmony with the sign of the day, Monkey, and the sign of the month, Dog. If you doubt yourself, don't act. The Earth of Earth Monkey puts a tiger in line 3 warning of possible injury, but says that if you do act, and are sure of yourself, act resolutely, even fiercely. If you waver, you lose.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Wood, and Wood. What is sought will be achieved.
