Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/29/14

10/29 is the day of Water Rooster in the month of Wood Dog. This is a partially harmonious combination. It promotes work and making money, and favors such professions as teaching, scholarship, research, psychic and metaphysical work, mediumship, medicine, writing, designing, art, and occupations that don't require much interpersonal contact.
Dog-Rooster combination brings out Heaven Medicine Star. It is good for people who are strong, and bad for people who are weak. It encourages taking care of your health. It also favors philosophy, psychology, and divination. This is a good day for getting a reading.
If you were born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this is a good day for romantic affairs.
If you were born in a year or day of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a day to take charge and step forward in your life and work.
If you were born in the year of Rabbit, Sheep, or Pig, today and tomorrow, 10/30, are not the best for important meetings or events.
Rooster is harmonious with Ox, Snake, Monkey, and Dragon, neutral with Pig, Rat, Tiger, Horse, and Sheep, and discordant with Rooster, Rabbit, and Dog.
The I Ching hexagram for this day is number 23, line 5.

Hexagram 23 is Splitting Apart. The old is discarded and replaced with the new. When things are at their worst, they begin to improve. This hexagram is bad in fall.

Line 5 says if the situation is bad you must pursue your objectives nonetheless. Getting help and cooperating is a good idea. The zodiac sign of line 5, Rat, is in fairly good relation with the signs of changing lines 2 and 6, in harmony with the sign of the day, Rooster, and out of harmony with the sign of the month, Dog. The Water of Water Rooster puts a snake in line 5. There is something hidden and/or strange in it. It works well in the short run, but not so well in the long run. Take care of what is immediately in front of you, and not project into the far future. Look closely, and pay attention to details.

The elements of this hexagram are Metal, Earth, and Earth. If the foundation is strong, you can build up from it.
