Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/25/14

10/25 is the day of Earth Snake in the month of Wood Dog. It is a peak day for Snake. Earth Snake is a Knife Blade combination. While a Knife Blade can bring out anger, this one encourages people, especially those born in a year or day of Snake, to act independently and decisively where there is money and good fortune to be had. Take a chance, in other words. Snake in the year of Horse (we are currently in the year of Horse), however, can bring out worry, stress, and sad feelings, especially if you are dealing with hardships or difficulties in a relationship. The combination of Earth Snake with Wood Dog is nonetheless harmonious, and it favors working hard, being inventive and expressing yourself creatively.
If you were born in a year or day of Rabbit, Sheep, or Pig, this is a good day for travel, rearranging your house, and making a positive move forward in your career.
If you were born in a year of Tiger, Rabbit, or Dragon, this is not the best day for important meetings or events. If you do, however, wear something black to mitigate the shar (bad luck) of the day.
Snake is the Robbing Star for Rat. If you were born in a year or day of Rat, this is a day to act sharp, and keep your eyes open for any trickery that might cause you a loss.
The I Ching hexagram for this day is number 7, line 3.

Hexagram 7 is the Army. This is a lucky sign for people born in the year of Tiger, Horse, and Sheep. It gives the sense of authority needed to make strategic decisions. A large number can be overwhelmed by a small group. Get organized. Without proper organization nothing can be accomplished. Good fortune comes after difficult times. Be persistent and work hard.

Line 3 warns against bunglers. Using the wrong people will bring bad luck. Be careful about your choices. The zodiac sign of line 3, Horse, is in partial harmony with the signs of changing line 5; in a harmonious relationship with the sign of the day, Snake, and in harmony with the sign of the month, Dog. The Earth of Earth Snake puts a tortoise in line 3, showing danger of theft. Privacy is recommended. Keep your own counsel, and play your cards close to the chest. Success will come.

The elements of this hexagram are Water, Water, and Earth. You cannot go back. You must go forward. Earth dams water. Water builds up. After great efforts, rewards come.
