Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/26/14

10/26 is the day of Metal Horse in the month of Wood Dog. This is a discordant combination that can precipitate unexpected changes and reversals. It favors such professions as teaching, psychic mediumship, medicine, detective work, research, writing, designing, working behind the scenes, and activities that don't require much contact with others. It also favors freelancing and speculation. This is a good day to consult a psychic.
Metal Horse favors wealth and good fortune.
If you were born in a year or day of Horse, Snake, Rooster, or Ox, this is a good day for romance.
If you were born in a year or day of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, this is a good day to take command and move forward in creative and professional interests.
If you were born in a year of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon 10/26, 10/27 and 10/28 are not good for planning important meetings or events. If you do, wear something green, and/or sit with you back to the east to mitigate the shar (bad luck) of these days.
Horse is harmonious with Dog, Tiger, and Sheep, neutral with Snake, Monkey, Rooster, Pig, Rabbit, and Dragon, and discordant with Horse, Rat, and Ox.
The I Ching hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 16, line 1.

Hexagram 16 is Joy, or Enthusiasm. It is a time to get helpers and set armies marching. This hexagram is good in fall.

Line 1 says that too much joy, and boasting brings bad luck. The zodiac sign of line 1, Sheep, is in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1 and 5, and is in harmony with the sign of the day, Horse, but in discord with the sign of the month, Dog. The Metal of Metal Horse puts a tiger in line 1 denoting potential injury. Everything moves along positively, but if you are careless, it could end badly.

The elements of this hexagram are Wood, Earth, and Wood. Earth is overcome by wood. If overwhelmed by problems, best retreat and wait for the time to change.
