Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/19/14

10/19 is the day of Water Pig in the month of Wood Dog. This is a harmonious combination that favors working hard and using your talents to make money. It is a peak day for Pig, and could bring some discord to relationships.
For people born in the year or day of Snake, Rooster, and Ox, this is a good day for travel, rearranging the house, or making a significant change in work.
For people born in the year or day of Monkey, Rooster, or Dog, this is a good day for enjoying quiet time in solitude.
For people born in a year of Tiger, Horse, or Dog, 10/19, 10/20, and 10/21 are not the best for planning important events or meetings. If you do, wear something green to mitigate the shar (bad luck) of these days.
Pig is harmonious with Rabbit, Sheep, Tiger, Rat, and Ox, neutral with Dragon, Horse, Rooster, and Dog, and discordant with Pig, Snake, and Monkey.
The I Ching Hexagram for this day, using the King Wen method, is number 2, line 6.

Hexagram 2 is Receptivity, or Earth. Success comes with persistence. If you lead you get lost. If you follow you find  the guidance you need. Quiet work brings good fortune.

Line 6 says that to lead today, unless directed to do so, is unfortunate. The zodiac sign of line 6, Rooster, is in disharmony with the signs of changing lines 1, 3, and 4, in harmony with the sign for the day, Pig, and in disharmony with the sign for the month, Dog. The Water of Water Pig puts a tiger in line 6, making it unfavorable. It is better to tend to small things, not make any big move today.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Earth, and Earth. Tend to basics, and review the past.
