Daily Chinese astrological I Ching reading: 10/24

10/24 is a solar eclipse, and begins a new lunar month. It is the intercalary month, or period of adjusting the lunar and solar calendars, Wood Dog continuing to 11/7, and Wood Pig running from 11/7 to 12/22.
10/24 is the day of Earth Dragon in the month of Wood Dog. This is a clashing combination that can make dramatic changes, appropriate for a day of a solar eclipse.
Earth Dog is a Commanding Star. It favors highly ambitious and motivated people.
Earth Dog is also a Heaven Happiness Star. It is optimistic and generous, and favors those who work hard when faced with challenges and obstacles.
Earth Dog is also a Red Light Star, and can cause turmoil in personal relationships.
For creative, inventive, artistic people born in a year or day of Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, this is a good day for work.
For people born in a year of Snake, Rooster, or Ox, 10/24 and 10/25 are not the best days for planning important meetings and events. If you must, wear something black to mitigate the shar (bad luck) and/or sit with your back to the north.
Dragon is in harmony with Monkey, Rat, Rooster, Tiger, and sometimes Rabbit, neutral with Sheep, Ox, Snake, Horse, and Pig, and discordant with Dragon, Dog, and sometimes Rabbit.
The hexagram of this day, using the King Wen method, is number 43, line 5.

Hexagram 43 is Breakthrough, Resoluteness, or Decision. You must resolutely make things known, and tell the truth. Danger. It is time to act. This hexagram is bad in fall.

Line 5 advises to be forthright and thorough, and root out adverse influences. The zodiac sign of line 5, Rooster, is 2/3 in harmony with the signs of changing lines 1, 2, and 4, is in harmony with the signs of the day and month, Dragon and Dog. The Earth of Earth Dragon puts a dragon in line 5. That is very lucky. Act decisively.

The elements of this hexagram are Earth, Metal, and Metal. Success is attainable.
